Origin of the Species – Should You Listen to Free Speech?

What is speech – in language, construction, symbols, style, noises, and accompanying non-verbals – but the primary means to convey meaning between members of the Animal Kingdom?

All the animals do it. But of course, we special species of Evolution and Progress… do it more better, because we are on top. When one of us occasionally gets ‘picked off’ by an inferior animal… it’s just a ‘fluke’ or a ‘happening’. So, since obviously no one learns from a lesser animal… we are left by our superiority to learn from …our selves?

Hmmm. Not exactly, it seems. It seems that the loudest Teller, the more ‘charismatic’ noise-maker, the ones with ‘more stuff’ … ‘get listened to’ … more. It seem the Tellers ‘have’ all the advantage over the Listener.

So it seems. Don’t all the polls…tell you so? Don’t the special people… tell the rest of the people? Aren’t you told daily by all forms of communicating…how to feel, what sayings to mantra, what to do…or not do? And if you do not feel, say, do, or not do as you are Told…are you not, at best… “inappropriate”? Yes, the Tellers have all the advantages.

Except for listening.

Listening is only essential for … critical thinking.

What if any Listener … could listen anytime, any place, by any medium he chooses?

Why…yes we can! And we don’t have to chant ‘yes we can’ … to listen! And we don’t have to ‘feel good’ … or any other feeling of oppression or excitement … in order to ‘listen’. Hmmmm…. Is ‘listening’ solely dependant on …your ‘choice’?

Does this strange person who chooses to ‘listen’ … ‘just do it’? What’s in listening for him?

Consider: the listener is doing an essential step in the Problem Solving Process, usually described as ‘gathering raw data’. I use that term rather than the more common ‘gathering information’, because, BC [Before Celebrating that words mean whatever], the term ‘information’ used to connote accuracy, credibility, and rationality.

Who remembers an adult saying to you as a child: don’t talk, listen; and, do as you’re told? If you are an adult, and an adult talks to you like this, what does that suggest about what this talker is assuming about himself…and you?

What is our most objective, reasonable way to determine what this Talker [I use the term "Teller" because it literally more accurately describes the style and human relationship of the intercourse]… means? Or, as is popular today, “really means…totally, honestly, actually, really” [THAR]?

As a kid i heard a phrase that still brings a smile to my face and a picture of the adult at McDonald’s punching the picture of the burger on the register when I buy one. The phrase: “straight from the horse’s mouth”. I wonder if that phrase yet means: listen to the Teller, to get the very best information about the Teller. Who is more accurate about what he feels and believes, than The Feeler, Telling you all about it?

And how can we, the inferior ones, learn from the superior ones…without Free Speech for Tellers… and Listening by you?

So, listen…very carefully…to what the Teller tells you, if you want to find out what the Teller feels and thinks about himself…and you…and the content of what he is telling you. Listen…to get it straight from the horse’s mouth, in horse sense, in the Teller’s way of horse trading.

For example, the other day I signed up on the website www.redstate.com in order to comment on a thread titled “Why Can’t Obama Govern”. I answered the author’s question, and asked several questions about the content of what other posters posted. Some posters called me names. Others told me how smarter or more successful they were than I. Others made assumptions about me. No poster…answered my questions. Yet, within 3 days, someone with authority to block people, blocked me from commenting without warning or explanation or even citing what rule i had violated. I see this pattern occurring regularly in all forms of media in this Nation of Cowards.

The pattern:
1-Tellers tell whatever
2-When asked what they mean, or asked about their content, they attack the asker
3-The Tellers substitute attacks or distractions or entertainment for discussion about the content/issue they chose to Tell about.
4-If the asker keeps asking, the Tellers tell each other the asker is [various negatives]; soon, ostracism and/or banning follows.

This individual pattern, mirrors our national socialist pattern:
1-Tellers declare themselves the Bringers of Social Justice, the owners of your Hope and Change, and possessors of “empathy”.
2-Tellers tell you what to feel, say, think, do.
3-If you ask a Teller to explain about himself or the content of what he tells…what are his responses? Does the Teller [the superior] answer you [the inferior]?
4-What is it when the Superior, does not listen to or help the Inferior?

Thanks to that Creator/God our Founders described in our Declaration and Constitution, it is upon God’s authority, not man’s, that our individual rights are self-evident and inalienable! For the story of men is the story of who’s the Best Teller…Trust Me.

Which suggests an interesting comparison with our motto “In God We Trust”.

So, perhaps our everyday, everyway Tellers best illustrate why this Nation …”so conceived and so dedicated” …is a continual test of Lessers sacrificing to ‘keep our Republic’ …while our Superiors Tell us …all about themselves …and so lead us in how to lose it.

Now, before I succumb yet again to the natural temptation of Telling…there’s one minor glitch in my THAR self-portrait. Since I am the one who sees, senses, feels, thinks for me…the biggest, trickiest, worst Teller ever for me…is always…me. Therefore, if i do not first re-recognize Who I Am before I open my mouth…I naturally join the Chorus of Tellers… each time. How each person saves himself from Telling…is a personal question for that person…a continuing test in this life, for life.

This natural, continuing situation is one hypothesis as to why our Founders said this Nation was an “experiment”, rather than “exceptional”. It also explains why no imperfect person can survive the consequences of his own Tellings…yet naturally keeps right on Telling. Everybody does it…so, who can save us from our own Perjuries…whilst we keep Telling ourselves … “it doesn’t rise to the level” … as we drown in our own vomit?
